Cartesian impedance control with damping off

This 2010 video shows the performance of a Cartesian impedance controller for the torque-controlled KUKA-LWR robot holding an extra payload, when the damping term in the controller has been turned off. The response to a contact force (a human pushing on the end-effector) is oscillatory due to the joint elasticity.
